James Harvey Langford, Sr. was the first child of Fielding Langford and Sarah Bethurum. He was born in Somerset, Pulaski, Kentucky on April 30, 1831, and he died in Colonia Oaxaca, Sonora, Mexico on May 29, 1908. James Harvey married Mary Caroline Turnbaugh on September 14, 1856.
